You are absolutely right. Taking care of yourself just allows you to be better at being a parent. "Days off" are not available so those special moments to regroup are so important, so you can have all those special moments with your children. I always do the same with my to-do lists, I remember reading somewhere that it's a great idea to put things like 'brush teeth' on your list, just so you can get going. I am definitely finding it easier to thrive as a mother as my children get older - it's nice to share interests and have proper conversations!
